An exciting opportunity has risen for a Payroll Officer to join a rapidly growing construction business based in Northamptonshire. Looking for someone who is experienced in processing monthly payroll and has a sound knowledge of using various payroll systems. The business is going through a period of change where they will be implementing a new payroll & HR combined system.

The Role:
You will be providing first line support for Payroll queries across the business and leading on the new system implementation project that is due to take place. You role will require coordination and management of the payroll function through its period of change and mapping out the duties and processes that go alongside this. You will ensure that a smooth payroll process is put in place and make suggestions for any improvements that can be made. The role will enable you to liaise with senior stakeholders when providing payroll reports and information for the management team. You will be responsible for processing new starters pay correctly in line with the company authorisation procedures and processing documents for starts and leavers.

It is essential that this person is able to run payroll confidently and accurately through various systems and send this off as part of your role. Another part of the role will revolve around a lot of project based work within the HR and Payroll team. You will be responsible for managing process and ensuring that projects are business critical and in keeping with company values. There will also be a data analytics project that you will be heavily involved with alongside the more junior members of the team.

The Candidate:

Previous payroll experience is essential
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of on-going legislative changes which affect payroll
Excellent planning, organisation, time keeping and communication skills
Strong attention to detail, numerate and analytical
Microsoft Excel and Word skills to an intermediate standard
Proactive and able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
