Macildowie HR are working exclusively on a retained bases with a housing organisation based in Leicester that are going through an exciting period of change due to a large scale acquisition! Supporting employees across the UK and working at head office with the wider HR team you will devise and set the overall L&D strategy for the business and we are looking for a commercial Learning & Development Manager to take L&D to the next level! The role is based in Leicestershire and paying ?46,000.


Reporting into the HR Director, managing an L&D Officer and L&D Coordinator and working with the wider HR team you will lead the Learning & Development function and deliver high quality service to Head Office and their two sites in the south of the UK (travel a couple of times a month) in an strategic and operational role. This is a fantastic role for an L&D professional wanting to pick up a transactional L&D function, to bring in fresh new ideas and really make a difference to the organisation 600 employees! Managing an L&D budget, whilst working with all levels of the organisation up to Leadership level, you will assess current L&D initiatives and have the autonomy to put in place new ways of working including reviewing and developing the overall L&D strategy.



Working with your key stakeholder's including Exec Directors, the Comms Team, I.T and the Digital Transformation Management Board you will gain an understanding of training requirements through TNA of all functions. This role will involve the full training life-cycle, from TNA, design, delivery and evaluation whilst managing various short and long term projects that will enable to function to push forward. Training will range from behavioural and soft skills training up to Leadership Development with the use of external training providers for more technical training.


We are looking a commercial L&D Manager who can demonstrate ROI and use MI to gain buy-in from senior Managers and to ensure that you're development plans are working. It is crucial you have examples and key achievements (figures) of how your previous work has benefited the company commercially.


There is also an opportunity to devise new and innovative ways of learning through the digital arena, more than just e-learning, with the vision of bringing in a wide range of digital learning methods. You will have the creativity in order to visualise these digital learning methods and put them to paper in order to work with external providers to design and create them from scratch to then roll them out into the business.

Working proactively with HR BP's and Managers you will look at employee engagement and talent and succession planning ensuring high performers are given the training and development needed to stay engaged and to enable them to progress their careers to the next level at this organisation. The Candidate

We are looking for a commercial, creative and self driven L&D professional with flair and enthusiasm to drive positive change to entire organisations L&D offering. You will have previous experience of working with a Learning & Development role and the full training life-cycle as well as have experience on delivering the overall HR strategy. You will have experience of management development ideally up to leadership development, although this role may provide you with your first experience in leadership development. This is an organisation that's growing and invests in its people, you will therefore be able to create commitments and engagement across the business and have proven return on investment. You will personable and approachable with the ability to challenge and influence at all levels including the board. On your CV, we'll be looking for real ROI figures to enable us to see how your work has really impacted the organisation commercially.
