Location: Guildford/ Uxbridge

The Role

This exciting role will be supporting the Divisional HR Lead, being responsible for Partnering with the Midlands & South division, in a truly HR Generalist role. Primary location focus will be supporting the business units based out of Guildford and Uxbridge. This HR Business Partner will develop and deliver a divisional HR Business Plan that is consistent with the overall HR and Business strategies but is more of an operational and hands on HR position.

You would need to work as a flexible resource, supporting the development and implementation of professional people management policies, capabilities and practices for the full employee lifecycle.

This role is an integral part of a wider HR team and HR community, where you will be expected to work collaboratively with these wider teams, including the shared services teams, and other internal stakeholders. The responsibilities include the following amongst others:

  • Resource planning, recruitment and selection
  • Talent & succession plans, with development plans in place and implemented.
  • Succession plans and talent maps in place and implemented
  • Advise management on all aspects of Employment policy in respect of discipline, grievance, welfare and promotions; assisting management in the handling of such matters including the drafting and issue of appropriate correspondence.
  • Advise management on all aspects of employee relations, to ensure compliance with industry collective agreements and employment law.
  • Ensure all graduates and trainees are issued with personal development programmes and that such programmes are delivered in their entirety, providing support and mediation in the event of difficulties in the delivery of the programme.
  • Produce monthly HR Report for each business unit
  • Attend business unit leadership meetings
  • Complete ad hoc reports and projects as required

    The Person

  • Existing or prior HR experience in a business partnering capacity
  • Able to demonstrate evidence of ER case management across the broad generalist spectrum
  • Proven success in supporting TUPE transfers
  • Experience within construction would be advantageous but not essential
  • Relevant HR/CIPD Qualification with flexibility and energy to operate across a wide geography
  • Strong IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases & exposure to Oracle
