HR Assistant

Macildowie HR is working with a leading business within the professional services sector to source an established HR Assistant. You will be working in a shared service centre reporting directly into the Senior HR Officer. The role is incredibly fast paced and offers scope to develop, either knowledge of HR through various team meetings and shadowing more senior professionals or through the business into a variety of roles as the company is forever growing.

So, what's the role?

  • Be the expert in all absence management matters, i.e. annual leave, maternity, paternity, occupational health referrals etc.
  • Offer first line advice to line managers on a variety of HR queries
  • Liaise with Payroll to ensure all employee records are up to date and accurate
  • Communicate with managers to ensure probationary reviews are completed on time and logged properly
  • Offer support to the Senior HR Officer and wider team on restructures and redundancy procedures
  • Maintain the accuracy of various HR files/spreadsheet to ensure they comply with company policy
  • Assist in setting up and administering formal disciplinary and grievance meetings
  • Build strong relationships with line managers

  • Have a strong HR background and worked in similar roles previously
  • Strong with their communication and able to build lasting relationships in a challenging environment
  • Understand the importance of working as a team and able to support in colleagues absences
  • Take accountability for their work
  • Knowledge of employment legislation in employee practices
  • Profound knowledge of various HR systems and administration systems
  • Knowledge of UKVI regulations and Disclosure and Barring Service checks
  • Able to work to tight schedules and prioritise tasks logically
  • Able to use their own initiative and think pragmatically about situations
