Head of HR - Northamptonshire - ?60,000-?70,000

Macildowie Recruitment is delighted to be working as an exclusive partner with a reputable FMCG business in Northamptonshire as they look to recruit a Head of HR to manage their HR offering. The business has a strong reputation in its market and they are continually growing. Given the growth ambitions of the business they are looking to develop a robust HR service that can begin to add greater value. The role will be recruited on a permanent basis and will offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

The Role
The Head of HR will oversee the HR provision for the whole business workforce. While responsible for leading on strategic HR initiatives and projects, the Head of HR will enjoy a role that offers great variety and the ability to truly engrain themselves with the business.

The Head of HR will be expected to build relationships with all levels of the business to improve the visibility and accountability of HR but also to help drive change and improvement initiatives. The role will have accountability for everything HR; Talent, Engagement, Recruitment, ER, Union relationships and reward. There is a small but experienced team that the Head of HR will manage and develop.

Areas of focus for any incoming Head of HR in the short to medium term will be:
- Formulating a realistic HR strategy
- Deploying and embedding a new talent management system
- Reinventing performance management frameworks
- Establishing a more proactive recruitment strategy
- Working with unions to drive engagement and improve ED&I statistics
- Building relationships with senior leadership team

The Person
Our client is looking for a pragmatic HR generalist with experience of managing a HR team and has experience working with blue and white collar colleagues. Experience of strategy writing is sought, however our client is looking for someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and really get to know the business from the bottom up. An efficient approach to working, a commercial mindset and a strong work ethic are essential to be successful in this role. Flexibility in visiting a handful of sites occasionally across the UK will be required.
